CRediT Author Statement

Atmos Law adopts the Contributor Roles Taxonomy (CRediT) to provide a transparent, consistent, and structured description of each author's contribution to a published article.

CRediT enables authors to clearly identify their individual contributions to the research and manuscript. The use of this taxonomy is intended to improve transparency in authorship, acknowledge different forms of scholarly contribution, reduce potential authorship disputes, and strengthen accountability among contributors.

The CRediT Author Statement does not replace the journal's authorship criteria. All individuals listed as authors must continue to meet the authorship requirements established by Atmos Law and applicable publication ethics standards.

Author Responsibilities

Authors should observe the following requirements:

The contribution of each author must be identified using the appropriate CRediT roles.
One author may be assigned more than one contributor role.
The same contributor role may be assigned to more than one author.
The contribution statement must accurately reflect the actual contribution of each author.
The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all contributor roles are accurate and have been reviewed and approved by all authors.
CRediT roles should not be assigned to individuals who do not qualify for authorship.
Contributors who do not meet the journal's authorship criteria may be recognized in the Acknowledgments section where appropriate.

Authors are required to provide a CRediT Author Statement during the manuscript submission process. The statement may be included in the published article as part of the author contribution information.

CRediT Contributor Roles

CRediT Role	Definition
Conceptualization	Development, formulation, or evolution of the overarching research ideas, goals, and objectives.
Methodology	Development or design of the research methodology, procedures, approaches, or models used in the study.
Software	Development, programming, implementation, testing, or maintenance of software, computer code, algorithms, or related computational components used in the research.
Validation	Verification and confirmation of the reproducibility, replication, or overall validity of research results, experiments, or other research outputs.
Formal Analysis	Application of statistical, mathematical, computational, or other formal analytical techniques to analyze or synthesize research data.
Investigation	Conducting the research process, including experiments, fieldwork, interviews, observations, surveys, or collection of data and evidence.
Resources	Provision of research materials, participants, samples, instruments, databases, computing resources, facilities, or other resources necessary for the study.
Data Curation	Management, organization, documentation, cleaning, annotation, maintenance, and preservation of research data for initial use and subsequent reuse.
Writing – Original Draft	Preparation and writing of the initial version of the manuscript, including substantial preparation of its scholarly content.
Writing – Review & Editing	Critical review, revision, commentary, and editing of the manuscript during the pre-publication or post-publication stages.
Visualization	Preparation and presentation of research data or findings through figures, tables, diagrams, charts, illustrations, or other visual representations.
Supervision	Oversight, leadership, mentoring, and guidance related to the planning and implementation of the research activities.
Project Administration	Management and coordination of the research project, including responsibility for planning, implementation, and organizational activities.
Funding Acquisition	Acquisition or securing of financial support that contributed to the research project and resulting publication.

How to Prepare a CRediT Author Statement

The contribution statement should list each author's name followed by the relevant CRediT roles.

Authors should only select roles that accurately represent their actual contribution to the research.

Example

Name A: Conceptualization, Methodology, Investigation, Writing – Original Draft.
Name B: Data Curation, Formal Analysis, Visualization.
Name C: Methodology, Validation, Writing – Review & Editing.
Name D: Investigation, Resources, Project Administration.
Name E: Supervision, Writing – Review & Editing, Funding Acquisition.

Example for Two Authors

Author 1: Conceptualization, Methodology, Investigation, Formal Analysis, Writing – Original Draft.
Author 2: Validation, Supervision, Writing – Review & Editing.

Example for Single-Author Manuscript

For a manuscript written by a single author, the author should identify all applicable roles. For example:

Author: Conceptualization, Methodology, Investigation, Data Curation, Formal Analysis, Writing – Original Draft, Writing – Review & Editing.

Important Note

The assignment of a CRediT role represents a contributor's specific involvement in the research and publication process. It does not automatically establish eligibility for authorship.

All listed authors remain individually and collectively responsible for the integrity of the published work according to their respective contributions and the journal's authorship and publication ethics policies.

Authors must ensure that the CRediT Author Statement is finalized and agreed upon by all authors before the manuscript is submitted to Atmos Law.
